Screenshots: how often, who sees them, how long they're kept
The Mac and Windows apps take screenshots only while a person's timer is running and someone is at the keyboard. One is taken at a random moment in each block, of every screen.
Settings
Admins choose under Settings → Time & attendance → The desktop app:
- Screenshot every: Off, 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
- Keep screenshots for: 30, 60 or 90 days. The Team plan keeps at most 30 days and Business at most 90. Older ones are deleted each night.
Who sees them
Only admins. They are on Team time: click a person to open their day, and the screenshots are grouped by hour. Screenshot now asks that person's laptop for one right away, while their timer runs and the app is online.
Be open about it
Tell your team what is recorded and why before you turn screenshots on. On a Mac, the app needs the Screen Recording permission; see Installing Clockade on a Mac.
