Installing Clockade on a Mac

Clockade for Mac needs macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer.

Install

  • Download the .dmg from My attendance, open it and drag Clockade to Applications.
  • The first time, right-click Clockade and choose Open. If macOS still refuses, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and press Open Anyway.
  • Type the 6-digit code from My attendance → Connect this laptop.

Three permissions

Clockade can't track your day until all three are on. The app shows a button for each:

  • Screen activity (Screen Recording), for screenshots and window titles.
  • Notifications, for reminders and the start-of-day nudge.
  • Open when the Mac starts, so the timer is there every morning.

If one of them is switched off later, the timer stops until it's back on.

The menu bar

Clockade lives in the menu bar: your time today, Start, Stop and Break, plus Open Clockade, Add missing time, Ask for leave and Preferences. In Preferences you can show the time in the menu bar, turn sounds on or off, and see today's timings.

Five minutes after the office opens on a working day, the Mac reminds you if your timer is still off.
